While interest in residential heat pumps has grown, accounts of installation costs can be both high and highly variable, leading to bid confusion and differing expectations. Why is this the case? The Midwest Heating and Cooling Collaborative investigated this core question. This report outlines known air source heat pump (ASHP) equipment and installation costs and describes associated drivers of these costs.
